Default Should I blow my 408?

I've got my V1 just looking at me. Its been for my Lt1 but wondering if I should buy brackets etc, for my LS408. I think it would do well on my forged bottom with LS3 top.

Its not a new V1 and I'm not planing on more than 6-7lbs and not racing it. Just a couple passes a year.

I could still put it on my LT1 383 build, but with all the coin I've spent on my 408, I wonder if it would be better to use it on my 408.

Just wanted some thoughts. If I did put it on my LT1 then it would be a daily, even my LT1 355 has 390rwhp so I figure at least 450rwhp for my lilold LT1 and more on my 383. I only drive like 5-10 miles a day with no traffic.

Yeah 11.2 is high but I've yet to bolt on my heads. So this is why I'm thinking now. I could lower the CR.

My specs are in my sig.

Get that compression down and of course your 408 will make a nice boosted build.
You could run e85 if you have it. Alc/meth injection would also help. I am happy at 9.5 compression on my build. Not running that much timing just now waiting for alc injection kit but car makes good power even at lower timing and that 9.5 still seems to be snappy down low.
If had e85 option likley would have gone a full point higher on compression.

Thanks, I'll have to reseach on going e85. I just did some calculations and lowest I can go so far is 10.5. if I can get to 10.0 I may do it.

10.5 is no problem on e85. 10.0 would be nice and alc/meth injection will also work pretty good on either compression ratio. Now if you plan on running super high boost then of course its nice to have low compression. But with high compression especially on a street car no real reason to run that high a boost most of the time. In fact most of the time in town I don't even hit boost if don't want to.

Get it down to around 10:1 and you should be ok. My new motor is setup to be around the compressation ratio as well.
