Default Check This Out......

Blown Head Gasket caused this. Here is a pic of the cylinder. This motor blew a head gasket.

The question is: can this block be run as-is with some light de-burring or will it need to be decked. The heads are being re-surfaced as we type and new head gaskets with copper spray are set to go on also. The motor will see roughly 12-16lbs of boost.

I am far from a builder but if he surface is smooth ,even and within spec I dont see a problem.

I have spoke with a few builders who say Hylomar blue around the fire ring and it should be good. Any other opinions??

i would deck the block for sure, you want the surface to be completely smooth, especially with FI

and why are you not using dexcool ?

Dexcool is **** for coolant..
It will actually eat the inside of the motor apart. Do you google search.. U should switch to the green stuff.

I haven't run Dexcool in years. Way too many problems with it that I have heard of.

You got lucky. I have seen blocks that were garbage after a blown headgasket. looks like you cut it with a plasma cutter they were so bad.

this is right.

i had my blcok sleeved by erl. darton(sleeve company) recommends EVANS coolant
