>> Who blew up their stock internally motor on boost??? Details??
Okay guys here's what my plans are: stock 02 LS1 bone stock. I am thinking of going with a 6# supercharger kit, a catback, 30# SVO injectors, tune, and upgrading the headers later on. But of course I don't want to blow up my motor so for those that have done it and for those that have grenaded their motors please provide feedback of what went wrong and what not to do/ what to do with 6#-7# boost on a stock bottom end.

Mine lasted 16000 miles with 7#'s boost, have 255 pump, 42# injectors, valvesprings, good tune. Raised rev limit, missed shift once racing a vette at 7000 rpm and heard something rattle for a sec then clear up. started getting major blowby, tore it down crack in piston by ringland. Toast.. So in the middle of 383 stroker, turbo, cam.
Just be careful up in high rpm's your close to danger if anything happens up there, injectors might be a little small I'd go at least 42 so theres less work on the duty cycle

me inexperienced - bone stock motor. sts turbo way back in the day...lost #8 ringland at 5psi and spun a bearing after 10k miles of boost. Went lean. block was trashed so i cranked it up to 8psi and did a bunch of 0-60 launches. Tore the motor down and every piston had broken ringlands

lmao! just blew my stock shortblock ls1 with the sts kit.... got greedy with boost..... then kaboom killed a piston i think, havent tore it down yet.
Make sure you get a good tune on that SOB! Keep the boost low! Start saving for another motor!

Yeah, I will definately get the 42# to be safe. I have an auto and I will be keeping the stock cam for a while so 6700 is much higher than I would go. So from what I gather running 6-7#'s of boost and keeping the revs down, with a good tune and fuel system up to par should be relatively safe assuming nothing fails and the tune is good? seems like overrev and spinning high rpms kills a lot of these milder boosted setups which I will be avoiding.

8lbs and detonation cracked the water jacket in two cylinders and bent a rod and broke a piston. wasn't even really getting on it that hard. iat's were high though no intercooler.
