Default What Master Power turbo to run in a rear mount 383 setup??

I am having so much information thrown at me Im not sure. Some say go with the MPT76 P trim and .68AR so theres no spool issues. Some say go with MPT76 Q trim in no less then .86AR to avoid backpressure with rearmount. Does anyone run these rear mount and what are your specs or advice. Im running a 383 stroker with Cam lsa115, want to make sure this baby will spool and be enough for power goals down the road. Want 550-650hp for now, but want a capable turbo to go 750 down the road... Please help about to make decision on purchase..

Have you spoke with a sponser? Force inductions.com or moudluar turbo? I can tell you a exhaust AR of .68 is dumb on a rearmount spool would be fast but your car would run like a tow truck. No top end what so ever. I say a .81 exhaust-.96 Ar would be good choices.

a sponsor told me go with the p trim with .68Ar because he was worried about not spooling with the .96. He said not to go with Q trim.. just confused hope I didnt misunderstand him he was really nice and seemed knowledgable. Ive been looking at both the MPT76 or TC-76 or 78 just a little short on cash got $800 shipped and thats all for the budget. Im ready to order and master power seems the only way. Just have one chance to buy right part now and not sure on size and AR. Im going to have a fully forged 383 all callies, wiseco, epp blower cam, twin walbros. I know the engine can handle just looking for great package the first time around for this monster daily driver...

Thanks

Id go with the .96 exhaust side. It will spool up just fine. STS ships there 60-1 in.96 ar as well as the 67 trim. .68 will give you a ton of low end but nothing up top.

Honestly if you can't afford the extra $200 to get a MC/TC78, then I would just save until you can. You really can't beat the 1 year no questions asked warranty on the Turbonetics turbos.

Just think of all the extra money you'd have to buy a turbo if you would have stayed with a stock crank (and make more power).

P-Trim = no
.68 a/r = no
Bad advice.

Here's the issue, the TC/MC76 with a .68 is a good turbo combination for 600-700rwhp but will flatten out on the top end. .81 is good compromise .96 big power. I'm running a TC76 with .68 and love it for making 550rwhp. I will go to a .81 or .96 when I want more power. I prefer to go conservative on the A/R. On a 370 I might go .81 and go larger later if needed.

I would agree on the turbonetics MC/TC 78 if you can save the extra $$$, more power potential, good quality, very compact (smaller then a MPT76) which is a bonus for a rear mount.

But if your on an uber tight budget the master power are still good bang for $$$.

On the 383 i would go with a .96 AR for rear mount , i have a TC78 front mount with a .96 and its to small, chokeing the top end.

What about trim stay with .96 and P or Q?? Believe Ive made up my mind to spend extra quid.

So heres the final decision:
MC/TC76
of
MC/TC78

either with .96 AR cause Im rear mount. Im only looking for aroun 550 or so now but want to be capable of 700+ down road so Is it safe to say go with the MC/TC78 in .96. This is the last post if yes Im giving forced inductions a call Im ready to get this on and over with..
