Default People who have purchased APS kit VS. Kentucky Turbo kits.

What are the pros and cons that you have experienced. I've read a lot of posts and I know the APS kits have had a lot problems with the turbos, but wanted to hear more directly with all the issues you have had specificly with these two kits. Thanks.

Stay away from the APS kit unless you plan on getting the LG upgrades. Trust me Jeff!

APS apparently has dropped out of the F-body game. They are no longer producing systems for our cars. I'd say Kentucky Turbo would be your best bet.

The overall kit is great. But the failure rate on the APS supplied turbo's is bad. Other than that it did the job but to me the heart of the system (Turbo's) have some major flaws. I didnt realize it untill I read all this posts and put two and two together.

Inspector you have seen all the threads how can you ask this again?
Pros..kit was shipped ahead of schedule. quality of most of the kit was high. downpipes, intercooler pipes, intercooler, hopefully exhaust manifolds. etc all fit good.
Original inlet tubes sucked shut. Fixed for 30 bucks of 3 inch oval exhaust tubing stented into the inlet tubes. Sway bar hits intercooler pipes especially on lowered cars or cars with bigger sway bars. Solution spacers and shorten endlinks.
Car can run hot in hot weather past 90 or so with air on. Solution don't run air or upgrade to better rad, water pump. Don't drive car on super hot days if its not your daily driver. Fortunately I live in a place were it don't go past 90 very often.
Manual was great, kit install was long but went pretty good. Performance when the turbos work right is great.

Biggest con. Turbos are iffy and likely knock offs. Also gravity feed may not work that great and did buy scavenger pump for like 350 to use if necessary.
I had one dud day one cracked internally let coolant into oil but not vice versa. Caught it within minutes could have wiped out new engine.
I simply chose to not run the water cooling which is optional on mits turbos course these being knock offs likely speeding up their demise but have 3000 on them run with no water cooling and so far knock on wood they are still alive. Pro paid 4500 shipped for the kit ,pretty reasonable compared to price of other custom twin kits and there were no other twin kit alternatives and I wanted twins not single and wanted to keep air and access to plugs, etc.

Yeah you are right I have seen and read just about all the threads on the APS kits hell just about all the builds etc... But as I stated earlier it was for a friend who wanted a quick pros and cons that he could read as I have already pushed him towards KYTP. But some want to read first hand and not just take one person's opinion (Mine) etc... And this shouldn't have an effect on the other APS threads as I am not wanting anyone to go into any more detail than you did which was great run down. Thanks. And I told him that there would be 10 APS kits to one KYTP kit so he would see mostly bad stuff about APS and well not a ton of info on the KYTP kit but it would be mostly positive etc... Thanks again for your imput.

If I was gonna go turbo instead of Procharger, I'd buy from KYTP. they are at least located on our own soil & if you have issues they will stand behind their product unlike APS.
