Default Incon car getting rebuild

Been a while since Ive posted new info about the car.

2000 Formula Ws6 clone. 6-speed. 3860#'s with me in it. Incon TT kit (one of the 1st 10-12 or so, I would guess).

Incon stage 1 tuned at 8 psi, 6.0l heads, ls6 intake, 42# injectors, stock bottom end. Made 510/520 on a mustang dyno. Ran 11.05 at 129 on 16" et streets. Bets mph was 11.37 at 132 on 17" nitto's and more boost. (about 10 psi).

FINALLY getting around to fixing my motor noise that started sometime in 03.

Short version is that it starting ticking from the drivers side. Around 31k miles on the car. Pulled the heads, checked the lifters; no real indication of a problem. Put it back together with 317 heads, and the noise was still there. After that, I figured it was probably in the bottom end (since the lifters up had been changed). the car still ran good, made good power, so I lived with it. I put maybe 3-4k miles on it a year that way, lol.

Fast forward to now (17K miles later), and its had been finally getting worse. Out of balance a little, it seemed; and would set random missfire codes, as well as lots of retard due to the tapping.

Pulled the motor, and the #7 cam lobe was partially wiped. mostly along the edge. I would guess it was from improper heat treating. Bottom end was fine, bearings looked good.

NOW, its getting new/upgraded stuff. Forged 347 w Diamond -8.6cc pistons, Compstar rods, stock crank, dart 225 heads w chambers opened up (9.15:1) and a valve job. Custom cam from another Incon car from back in the day. A Lunati 226-222 .554/.534 115. 60# injectors. Finally a meth kit or a 2nd intank pump or both eventually.

Looking to make around 600rwhp on 10 psi with this setup. More at some point when I get it dialed in, 15psi 700?

To be honest, as it gets closer to 600rwhp; its slightly unsafe on the street. Always have to worry about wheelspin if the road is wet/cold.

The only pieces I'm missing for getting it put back together are gaskets, lifters, timing chain, and a few misc pieces. Most of that i get tomorrow. Should be running again in about a month, lol. I can only work on it on weekends. I hope to get 1 track day in before the season ends, but we'll see.

goal is high 10's at low 130's to start. Then as I get the tune tweaked, mid 10's at 135+. Maybe 140 on racegas.

Way to stick with it. I know it can get challenging at times with the little things that plague a car sometimes, but seems you have it worked out GL!

+1 for sticking to it. Too many give up or throw money at it for no good reason. Sounds like a keeper. That's rewarding as hell.

After a lot of work on modifying the k-member and BP bell housing, cleaning up stuff, etc etc.

IT STARTED! Only ran it a few seconds to move some water through the block; and see if it primed oil pressure. (I had the FP fuse pulled, but there was some fuel in the lines from setting the base fuel pressure). I was actually just trying to crank it w/o starting. lol.

Tomorrow, finish burping the coolant. Run it till it gets warm, drain the oil. Then monday its off to the alignment shop.
