Default Oil pressure gauge

Is it ok to T off the turbo feed line for an oil pressure gauge? And im not running a gauge cluster so could I just remove the factory sender and use that port or does the computer need a signal from the factory sensor?

i believe the pcm needs to see oil presure. i have tee`d off my feed line for a pressure gauge. its not like the oil is going anywhere on the gauge side. it will still feed the turbo adequatly.

pcm does not need to see oil psi. friends ls1 notch does not have a way to read oil psi, but now hes rebuilding it because of some spun bearrings.

The pcm does not need it an oil pressure signal. I would just break the factory oil pressure sensor and tap the inside of it with 1/8 npt, and put it there.

great thanks for the comments, I ordered an autometer adapter for 7 bucks that fits right where the factory sensor was. I feel better about that then stealing oil from the turbo at startup.
