Default Questions on this ebay kit

I am on a budget and this ebay kit (seems different then other ones) has a T4 flange and 4" downpipe. I want to run a T88 on my 402, I don't see why this wouldn't work? I was going to do a truck manifold kit but this kit seems to be just as good? I know it might have some fitting problems, but I am ok with that. What about the intercooler? I have heard ebay ones are ok? This is a street car, not a full out race car, and where I can save money would be great, I know its not cheap to build a turbo car!

It looks like the downpipe is probably 3.5" and I don't know the wastegate size. But I found this exact kit for $500 and to me, the turbo headers/crossover pipe and intercooler/piping are worth that! I could get a shop to probably make a 4" downpipe and if the wastegate flange was to small, get them to weld up a bigger one. So will this kit be good for a T88 turbo then? Might need the intercooler to go but I have heard good things about them being alright.

Oh and I need to know asap since the kit won't last long! Thanks!

looks like an old phamspeed kit to me, it gets routed under the kmember
biggest problem with that kit is ground clearance and plug access.

It is routed under the stock K member or could a BMR allow the clearance I run it through? Also with that kit are you able to keep the AC?

Yeah, it said made by Pham. My guess is it is the old Pham speed kit. For $500 its not bad, but I don't like the ground clearance and I think you get to keep AC.

How about truck manifolds with a mild steel crossover T4 pipe and 50mm wastegate flange? I found that for $300, just get the crossover pipe coated, get a 4" downpipe made and that should support a T88 no problem. Just worried about the mild steel for the charge pipe to the turbo. Thoughts?

I have an actual phamspeed kit on my car right now .. check out my sig for my build log and problems, and fixes and stuff you might run into.

Plug access isn't the best but easily fixed with new wires and 90º boots for the plugs and ground clearance with a 3" DP is fun but with a turbo K-member you can re-do the piping to go through it.

Does keep AC though.

XtremeDime, you have a PM

Super Slow SS, I believe I have seen your thread recently. I am not going to run the DP under the k-member. For now, I have a stock k-member, but I will remove the AC. I need to fit a 4" downpipe for a T88 sized turbo.

I am really leaning towards a truck manifold kit, I am hoping ModularTurbo makes a kit or can hook me up with an AC delete one since they said they had them before. I am also considering going with this kit
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-F...Q5fAccessories

if ModularTurbo doesn't work out, they are more expensive though for the same basic thing. I would get a 50mm wastegate and probably a T6 flange, hopefully a 4" downpipe as well.

Dude they're gonna lock your thread if you keep posting ebay links.

But $750 seems a little steep for only a flange/hotpipe setup and half a downpipe...not even manifolds included.

Oh, I didn't know they locked eBay links? I haven't been on this site in years because I haven't had an LS1 car. Now I know, so no more links! Haha!

I really want to go with the Modular Turbo but they must be busy because I am having trouble getting ahold of them. Guess this thread is pointless now and can get locked, sorry about the eBay links.

Modular can get busy but they are worth it IMO, just drop him an email and hell get back to you pretty soon.

That's what I did tonight. I've replied to threads, PMs, called and now emailed. I know they're busy, I feel bad bugging them, I'm just extremely anxious and excited to get this car boosted. I'm not buying anything until I hear from modular first, they are my number 1 choice.

Sounds very promising, can't wait to do business and get my car turboed!

Just got an email from him, he's outta the country from the 15th to 27th, that explains that! Haha. Gives me a few more days to save until I blow all my money on this car lol.
