Poor man's method to better belt wrap on an fbody

I ran into the same problem trying to find standoffs for a custom install. The metric thread makes it almost impossible in the states. You would think a huge supply house like McMaster-carr would carry a wide selection, but they don't. Also, anything over 2.5 inches in length is scarce.

Got a reply back from the machine shop !
"We can do this for you. If you just wanted to pay cash that would be $30. If we need to set this up and make paper work it would be $60."
I'm stopping by there tomorrow - I'll post up the results.
I have an extra stock accessory idler pulley sitting around at home from when I swapped to the MBA one, but I think I'll just order up a couple of 2.5" Procharger 6-rib idler pulleys (one to replace my beat-up one on the bracket, and the other for this new standoff). Do the Procharger 2.5" idler and the stock 3" idler pulleys share the same internal diameter (will they both fit on the same .668" dia machined standoff ?).
Cheers,
Rob (Bad30th)

Yes, they both have the same ID, however, the stock 3" accessory idler is not as thick as the 2.5" procharger idler, so it will need about a .100" spacer between the hex part of the standoff, and the pulley, then another much longer spacer to go between the bracket and the pulley.

Ive thought about having the tensioner spring loaded with just straight springs, but havent really acted on that yet. I've also thought about a way to get a stock accessory tensioner on there in place of the manual tensioner, but havent had a chance to mess with that either.. I did score a stock tensioner that my brother had laying around, so I'll have to try it out soon. For now though, I'm not having any belt slip issues as-is, so I'm pretty happy and sticking with the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" methodology

Just ordered my Tick MC today man, so hopefully it will be here soon. It still needs to be tuned, but as soon as the MC gets here (and HOPEFULLY cures my clutch engagement problem) I'll be able to schedule the tune ASAP. I'd like to see if I could sneak in atleast a shakedown pass before the track closes for the year, but I guess that depends on how soon I can get the dyno tune arranged..

I dropped off the standoff at the machine shop today - should be ready on Monday.
Also doing some measuring/reading I figured out my MMS crank pulley is 7.875". I think I have a 3.6" blower pulley on, will double-check when it gets back from ATI from being serviced (and I'll order up those two 2.5" idlers too).

Just picked up my modified standoff from the local machine shop, looks nice :
It will probably be a couple of weeks before I have anything new to update this thread with, my blower head unit is at ATI for service (sent off last week and they're about 3-4 weeks out for service). When I get the head unit back and the new pulleys come in I'll post some more pics up.
You guys that have the washers already set up and mounted on the standoff - do ya have pics/specs of the washers you're using ? Did you need to do any "customizing" ?
Cheers,
