Default Holy Fing trans brake!!! FLT 4L65E, tc78 KYTP KIT!

So i just wiring up and tested my new rossler t-brake using a flt level 7 4l65e.

All i can say is Holy ****. Im also using a 2 step that i had set at 4k. I just tested it for the first time on the street. In a few seconds its at 11lbs of boost and destroyes the tires.

Im heading out to the track this sunday for the first time on a t-brake. Before i could only foot brake it to 2k and launch on 10 inches of vacum and was having trouble with my 60 ft (1.7). It went 10.6 that way at 130mph.

Hoping for bottom tens with this new trans setup.

To be honest im alittle freaked out on how crazy this thing is going to launch.

Any advise from you veteran t-brake users would be great.

Alex

Trans brake and tire spin on the street is no good! It's really bad for the trans. I would start off at 3500 rpm and gp up from there.

I let out right away, just trying to set up the correct rpm and boost levels before i go to the track.

By the way, how is it bad exactly for the trans?

I would leave off of one or the other not both until I got used to it. Makes a big difference the transbrake is your friend. I have a couple of video's of my old car with a tbrake.
leaving off 1 psi.

Leaving off the floor at about 8psi

I would think that the tires hooking would be harder on the trans than just smoking the tires. Although I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination.

OP, The last three sentences in your sig are WIN!

I give that poor 4L65E about a month to live with a transbrake and 2-step workign against it.

I have to have faith in the FLT trans. The guys there are top notch builders and they have loaded my trans up with all the best parts. Both input and output shafts are billet, and i run this thing really cool all the time. Never been past 180 with it.

Also i dont think it would be a matter of time when this trans breaks, id say a matter of how many runs.

I think it will take one or the other not both. My car above was a 4 L80 conversion.

02SSLE, I thought it would be safer to use with the 2 step so it limits my rpm to what i set it to. I kinda newb at the t-brake stuff. Why do you say to just use the t-brake?

Mine built boost pretty fast. I would just get used to one before doing both. JMO Because you will make boost really fast on both. Unless you have good tires and suspension then you are going to spin like video above.
