Need to get my converter tweaked suggestions?
Got a BTE 10" race converter on my car and it turned out to be quite a bit loose. Here's the background.
99 Camaro LS1 418CI
Procharged F1A @16.5PSI
TH400 w/transbrake
9" rearend 3.50 gears
28" X10.5 Slicks
Full weight car with cage probably 3700-3800lbs minimum
I was aiming to get the stall around 4500 from BTE but it turned out to be 5500 on the tbrake and it's slipping all the way down the track. From a spectator point of view it never sounds like it shifts just at 6K all the way down the track. The driver perspective is similar. It's trapping the 1/8 at 6.60 @104 that's about 6K rpm's in 3rd they should be closer to 4300rpms.
On the dyno it made 700rwhp. When I still had the m6 it was making 900rwhp.
I'm about to pull the converter and send it to BTE just wondering what you guys think I should have them adjust it to. 4K-4500 sound good I don't care about streetability I don't really drive it on the street but even the way it is now it's not that bad

Converters are tricky beasts. They need to be loose enough on the trans brake but tight on the top end to handle the power. Sounds like you could probably have them tighten it up 800 rpms if it has no rpm drop on the shift and see how that works. Can take a few tries to get them correct unless you have someone really experienced with similar setups doing the converter setup.
My PTC turbo converter will stall 3600 NA on the trans brake and will go 3800 at 0psi and 5200+ rpm at 15psi on the brake and only has 6-8% slip at the top of 2nd at 136mph. It's a great setup for driving around but I need another 100-200HP to make it work correctly for drag since it's so tight up top (shift 1-2 at 7k and dops to 5300-5500).
Your car sounds very similar to mine in performance and weight. I'll go 6.60's at 104-108 with a mid 1.6x 60'. Fastest is a 6.40@109 on a 1.59 60'
