Default Is a 90mm Throttle body worth it??

I'm going to be using the new Edelbrock Pro Flo XT intake for my upcoming turbo project and I'm trying to decide if I should just bolt my ported stock throttle body on there or go ahead and buy a 90mm for it. Since we are shoving the air in there anyway, is it worth the cost of admission for the 90mm???

What's your opinions?

Thanks,
Frank

if you have the funds by all means pick one up. But if youre only running 3" pipe to TB then there is no sense in using a 90mm. if you use 4" to TB then yes use 90mm. i run 4" to the TB and use a 90mm tb

Port the stocker and save the cash. Plenty have put up great numbers with the ported stocker.

I have made over 1000hp and been in the 8's on a 78mm FAST TB.

I got 3" pipe feeding stock LS1 throttle body on a victor EFI setup on a twin turbo small block 401 and its been 10.3's at 134-135 so far, 3500 lb with me in it. Weak launch and rough street tune, only 10psi boost

Ported stock TB should be plenty

This is good info.
I'm running two 66's thru a 3" expanded to 4" pipe just before the stock LS1 TB. I've been worried that it would be a big restriction. The goal is 800whp with the 403ci.

Yeah i think you can make good power through a stock LS1 throttlebody. Ported wouldnt be bad idea tho, I just dont think i'd justify the big mm TB's unless you have a setup using 3.5-4" feed pipe. I dont, just 3" so stock $50 TB worth it to me low 10's, mid 130's with more in the the tune for sure and just 10psi boost
