Default What size stall for D1SC?

Hey guys, I did a search but couldn't come up with anything.

I currently have a Yank 3600ss, I was planning on going h/c/i, but had a change of heart and now plan on going with a D1SC on forged internals. I am planning on initially sticking with stock cam and heads. I currently have Dynatech lt's, Corsa cat back, and 3.73's in the rear. I will be getting a built tranny(prolly either FLT or PerformaBuilt), a Moser 9" rear, and forged crank, pistons and connecting rods.

What size stall and rear end gear do you guys recommend?

The 3.73 gears will be perfect. You could go with a 4000 triple disc stall or higher, it depends on how streetable you want it. Bob

with a procharger do you stall like you would N/A.

I ask because I know that on nitrous you have a stall that is tight on motor and doesn't work well N/A.

Where does your power come on at? Where you want it to flash at is really a personal preference. If you make a lot of power down low you dont really need a high stall. But what is a lot of power? To each their own.

I went 10. teens/132-133 mph with a 3.70 gear and a PY3400 Yank/4L65E FLT at 9#'s crossing the stripe at 6300 RPM or so. Loosened up the converter to a PY3600 and added 5#'s of boost and went several 9.80's crossing the stripe at 6700 RPM. The PY3600 got me 900 RPM drops between gear changes versus the 1400 RPM drops I had with the PY3400. I think there are 9.60's in it, I am having a few traction issues with it currently. Car weight is 3810#. I run a 27 x 11.50 QTP out back. The car hooks and unloads and then black tracks pretty good for 100-150 feet.

I'm looking at a daily driver essentially. I don't wanna have to go higher than the 3600 I already have. I was pretty much just making sure that 3600 wasn't too high. From the sounds of it, 3600 will be ok.

Excellent, this is exactly what I need to hear. Thanks. I'll be running more boost, but that shouldn't matter.

Just make sure your converter was built for the added power you're going to be making, or you'll drive through it and possibly trash it, which can also send debris through your transmission. Bob

It's a Yank, so it should be good.
