Default lq9 + s475

03 lq9 with ls6 cam, ls2 timing chain, hardened push rods and arp rod bolts.

Ill end up lowering compression when i forge the internals, but with the 10.0 to 1 compression this motor has, how much boost/power can be made withOUT meth injection?
....i do have an air to water intercooler, just not wanting do use meth injection right now.
Also using 93 octane for this setup.

And yes i have researched on here for a while, seen anywhere from 500rwhp to the 8xxrwhp goat...most use meth injection, just trying to see what others have done

Only really wanting about 550rwhp before the forged internals, which seems very doable, but maybe a 50 or 100 shot on top?

How much boost are you running? And forgive me for being a dumbass, but what kind of blower are you using?

untill i get forged internals im wanting to stay at or below 8psi, but whatever gets me 500rwhp is where it will be set at, most likely have a 50 shot on the motor for further cooling and getting boost up on the line as well as a tenth or two down the track

s475, it an borg warner/airwerks s400 line of turbos...75mm with a 1.10 a/r

Pm 98z28cobrakiller on here. He has taken a stock longblock lq9 to 10.08 on 13lbs of boost I think.

id say you could break 500 relatively easily, what heads are you running? stock bottom lq engines have made some great power, im pretty sure there are cars breaking 600 on stock bottoms, the rods are the weak part, im pretty sure there was a truck on here with a stock bottom lq4 that made like 7xx? it was a white sierra rcsb... mighta been a step side
that engine has less compression though if it was a lq4

anyway sorry about the rambling, i believe you can make 550 without meth, plus you have an air-water ic so it aughta help a little more over an A2A

correct me if im wrong im just going from memory

with 10:1 i dont think youd really need the extra nitrous to help spool, but im not an expert.

stock heads and stock truck intake

also, what boost are the ls6 yellow springs typically good for? They are brand new and not really wanting to take them out and put in dual springs untill the internals get upgraded

If you allow the motor to breathe easy, you should make your numbers without a problem on 8psi. I'd leave the c/r where it is. It will have better drivablity and better fuel eco with the higher c/r.

If i let it breth easy?

I know it will have atleast a 4 inch down pipe and 3inch tubing for the cold side...would that be adequate enough?

You have a good turbo friendly cam for your goals. 3" on the cold side with a free flowing filter should be good on the intake. If you can rig 4" on the down side all the way, that should be more than adequate exhaust wise.
