Default AC compressor relocation

Just did some test fitting. A 6 rib AC compressor from a silverado will fit where the alternator went.

Why is this important? I'm planning on building an ebay/p t K style setup, but having all of the junk on the passenger side.

I hope this helps someone in some degree.

Im confused. Why would you bother moving the A/c compressor when you can just move the alternator? Also wouldnt the water pump be in the way if you ran it through passenger side?

If you are trying to retain AC, you can run manifolds in a mirror to the ebay kit where you're not ramming 5 gallons of crap in a 1 gallon bucket on the drivers side. The passenger side provides tons more room for downpipes, hot side pipes, etc. This is more feasible with a stock k member.

I built a kit with a stock k member housing a 4 inch down pipe all run through the passenger side.

That kit is long gone as I was foolish and removed the AC

i refuse to go to a tube style k member.

So youre moving the alt up top, the ac to the driver side and running all the hot piping exactly the same way as it would be on the driver side but on the passenger side instead? Maybe I dont see the benefit because the passenger side looks just as cramped to me...

BTW you can fit a 4" DP on the driver side with ebay kit with solid mounts.

Do you have those solid mounts yet? From what I remember you have to slide it in between the k member and mount from the front or back.

Same here. I'd rather dip my ***** in battery acid than try to fit a 4" pipe with this setup.

It does seem like a lot of work though. You'd be cramming 5 lbs of crap in a 1.3 lb bucket instead of a 1 lb bucket

Passenger side does not have the steering shaft...... Major obstacle

i still think the starter is nothing compared to that steering shaft right in the middle of where you have to be.

Ill try and get some pictures this weekend.

I agree but i think by the time you rearrange the A/C and get that fit and mounted new lines run back to the pass. side then you are at just as much aggravation.

But try it out and let us know the pro's con's.
