my brother has had his 5 gallons of VP 100% Meth and he drives the hell out of the Grand NAtional and maybe used half of it in a year. It lasts a very long time but i guess it depends on how much your injecting as well.
For the money, straight meth is a little more then washer fluid, but well worth the money IMO.

I've got a 5 gallon gas can I fill with 1.5 gallons of distilled water, and go to a local race shop and have it topped off with with 3.5 gallons of methanol (about a 70/30 mixture). The methanol is VP M1 and is $2.50/gal. I run the windshield washer reservoir as the tank on the car, and it lasts quite a while. My methanol setup is a snow kit, and starts to spray at 4psi and is at full spray by 10psi (15psi max boost). I started running this blend in September, and I've still got more than half of the 5 gallon jug full. Very cheap octane!

One of the best sources is the guys who run methanol as a primary fuel. For those of us lucky enough to live near a local sprint car track, this is not too hard to find. A lot of those guys will have a few gallons left in a 55 gallon drum at the end of a race season, and it will have a touch of water contamination at that point with the container being opened and closed and all. So they cant use it as a primary fuel, and sell it cheap. Its great for them, as they really cant do much with it otherwise. Everyone wins
Many of our customers just go with blue, -20, generic washer fluid, which is about 33% methanol as is. Not bad for 2.50 a gallon, and it can be spiked with the little bottles of Heet in a pinch to make it more concentrated. 36OZ of Heet into a gallon of -20 gives you about 1.3 gallons of 48% methanol fluid.
Edit: Also, anyone who makes bio-deisel will have a source of methanol too.

Thanks guys. well i think i got a good grasp on purchase cost. Any more input on how much you consume? Seems like it goes down pretty slow like a gallon a month with some decent driving for many people

I mix 50/50 and have a 2 quart resevoir. I boost alot and it takes me about 3-4 months before I refill. Probably longer because I never let it get below 1/4 tank. I've been spraying for a year and a half and have only bought meth once. I lost 6 months though due to a blown motor lol

We typically see about 1 gallon of 50/50 water meth used for every 20 gallons of fuel, but that is heavily dependent on how often the vehicle is boosted and what settings, nozzle size, etc are used. But the normal average is about a 1/20 ratio with gasoline.
