Default 4.100 bore gaskets on a 3.905 bore

I'm planning on using the 5 layer gm mls gaskets for my 98 5.7 shortblock. Is there any downside to having the bore size of the gasket that much bigger than the bore? I'm using Dart 225 heads.

Thanks,
Frank

I went with a 4.00 gasket on a 3.905 bore
but that sounds like a bit much.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using a 4.100" bore gasket on a 3.905" block. In many cases, depending on the head selected, a 4.030" or even a 4.060" gasket will overhang the combustion chamber on the head side of an aftermarket head, which is a big no-no. I have used 4.130" bore gaskets many times on 4.00" bore engines to accomodate the head chamber for valve un-shrouding.
