Tapping intake for vacuum

Default Tapping intake for vacuum

Im trying to work on my PCV system and Im told I can tap the top of the air filter for a vacuum source, does that sound right? Sorry, Im bored at work lol

That is before the throttle blade, so there will not be vacuum there.

i think hes referring to pulling vacuum from the air filter that is attached to his turbo if im not mistaken?.... Question is, would there be enough of a vacuum there for that? i would think so. but im no expert. any other thoughts?

How would there be no vac? The turbo is constantly sucking in air...

Without a vacuum pump, sending your PCV system to the inlet side of the turbo is the best you can do. Pretty much the same as putting a breather on the valve covers and letting the pressure escape from the crankcase instead of being sucked out by intake vacuum. There has got to be a tiny bit of vacuum behind the air filter, but it ain't much. I have my crankcase venting to a oil catch can then from there to the inlet hat on the supercharger. Seems to work well and no oil collecting in the s/c and no exhaust smell.
