Default Shurflo pump question? Help please

I have the 8000-643-210 pump. Have it connected thru a 30 amp relay. Is this pump a constant running pump or does it cycle on or off? I disconnected the out put and started the car but i didn't get any oil out of that side. I double checked all the wiring and everything is good with 12.5 volts at all connections.

Damn I can see it or feel it running. Should it be noticeable? I started the car and disconnected the output but got nothing coming out.

It probably puked-out on you already, those pumps are not designed to move any hot motor oil.

There are a few people here running them without any problem. This car has ran for about 1 minute total and hasn't pumped anything thru it yet. So I doubt that is a problem.

Do u have it for a drain for the turbo if so then u have to run the car so the oil can move through the turbo and the pump picks up and return it to the pan.

Yes I know that but the drain from the turbo to the pump is full with nothing coming out of the pump.

You can hear it running? There loud as hell, don't have to guess if it's on.

From a 12v switch source to the relay, power for the pump comes from the positive post on the drivers side engine compartment with a 25amp fuse.

I did have a problem when I wired it per the STS instructions, the fuel pump wire from the pcm that they tell you to tap into didn't have enough voltage/amperage to consistantly turn the pump on.

You did check the arrow on the pump to make sure it's flowing in the right direction?

Do you have a voltage tester? This is the easiest way to get you on track. Check the power source at the pump and make sure it's getting power (or not).

Yes i did but that has nothing to do with the motor running.

I talked to Shurflo today they believe it is the motor or wiring to it.

Asking about the arrow was to address the issue you brought up about no flow. I guess the only thing you can do is verify power at the pump and a good ground.

both good. I might just go with a Mocal pump. Like three times as much but hopefully this one will work. I am trying to get the distributor to send me one but they want to evaluate the one i have before they do.
