Default Cam Pros Please help with 220/240 .610-.610 blower cam

I am running a TR Blower cam , 215.5/230 .601-.574 on a 116

This camshaft is in my built/forged LS6 9.3 compression with a D1-sc @15 psi

motor idels perfect, the slightest chop it has, nice midrange-top end power range.

ok I have a new Project i am working on, It is a LS2 stock cubes, will have stock ported 243 heads and a F1/F1A Procharger.

I was thinking on a slightly bigger cam for the bigght LS2 364 (6.0L) motor.

THe first cam i cam up with was a 217/234 with .600-.600 lift on a 116-118

The second cam is a bigger 220/240 .610-.610 on a 116-118

I don want to go much bigger on the lift, being that it will be in a street car, i dont want to keep changing out valve springs.

How would a wide split 220/240 cam idel, lope ? also my little TR 215/230 cam has no overlap, thats why my D1-sc can fill my cyclinders so effeicently

That seems like a huge split for the 243 heads. You can see what cam I'm going to run with a Procharger in my sig. I ran a cam bigger than that on my NA setup for almost 3 years with no issues on Comp 921 springs.

The point caindo is trying to make is that his cam was ground specifically for his application by Ed Curtis. He's not one of those guys that gives out a lot of info for free. If you want one of his cams you pay the man. Then he goes through everything with you and grinds you a kick *** cam for your specific combo.

There are other people to talk to. Virginia Speed and Hinson are a couple.

Stick or auto? Do you want similar characteristics to your current cam?

How much power do you want to make? Fact is the bigger it is the more power it will make-just like a N/A car.

For an off the shelf cam I really like the 222/228 and the next step up will be a 232/238, lobes are easy on the valvetrain too.

Both can make 800 rwhp easy.

PM and I'll tell you exactly who makes them.

We've made more power-like 900+(880+on a mustand dyno-unlocked) through a auto, with no more than a 8 degree split.

If your goal is 800+ I would go at least a 232 on the intake.

232, i dont believe in large duration on the intake side, FI forces the air right into the cyclinders.
thanks for the help

Just posting what we found works, we had 8 centri powered cars make over 800 rwhp this year and 6 that made 900+.

Way back when had my 347 with a 232 intake lobe it made over 900 rwhp with a F1R, it ran mid 9's on pump and meth.

I know a bunch of friends with small cams like what your suggesting but the track results were less than impressive.

Good luck bro

With a larger duration you force that air in for longer. Hence moar powa.

Pretty much what I have gathered from this thread is to tell the OP this:

Yes you are totally right and that cam you picked will be killer.
