tired of sts crap
Im done with sts, Car has been down almost two years, damn. I put together a procharger car in less than two months. Anyway i want some soft of forced induction. Im leaning towards the ebay turbo kit or another procharger setup. I would like to keep the car as stock as possible(a/c)? Any recommendations?
I think i would buy another head unit and have a machine shop duplicate the procharger brackets and have an exhaust shop fab some tubing for the pipes? does this sound like a good plan?

i agree, my turbo leaked oil out the exhaust. I tried everything, check valve on the turbo, big pump for the return. sts camaro hasent run in a year and a half, been thru two motors and upgraded the whole sts system(still leaked oil). My procharger firebird on the other hand took only a few months to complete, she's with the tuner now getting some minor work repaired.
Should i get the cheap ebay kit, but it looks like i have to buy turbo, intercooler plus tubing, alternator relocation bracket, blow-off valve, wastegate and a boost controller. maybe oil line also? What else is needed to complete an ebay turbo kit?

you are so funny...
Why is it in the wrong place... cause this car seems to like it back there.

I m running the sts kit and haven't had a single issue with it.

doing a front mount...yes.
cold pipe, hot pipe, adapters possibly, turbo, IC, BOV, WG, may not need boost controller...depends on what you want to do with it. Simply running off of the wastegate spring is what I have done and I'm sure others have...depends on what you want to do with your setup.

Just my opinion but +1 on STS. Yes its cheap power and yes it does take some TLC to get it right but once you do so you shouldnt have an issue out of it. I've been STS for years now and only had one issue which was 100% my faut(poor crimp connection)
But do plan on FM once new build is done!

That's the first time I've ever heard of an sts being harder to install than a procharger, when I was in auto school a few fellow students put an sts on a 2000 ta in four hours with simple hand tools and no problems that I knew of.

yes i know that rear mounts can be quick, but you can not beat the efficiency of a front mount kit
i think most people that get the sts kit is because the can not afford a proper front mount or do not want to do the extra work.
we are lucky that we cave big cubed motors, strap on a rear mount turbo on a 1.6litre honda civic and see how great that spools

procharger is so easy to install, I removed the tensioner bolt, put the j bracket on with the stands and slide the procharger in place. The sts pipes didn't want to fit my car so I had an exhaust shop run a new charge pipe from the rear to the front.
