Masterpower makes good budget turbos, Im told turbonetics of the same wheel size make better power ie a TC76 > MPT76. I know Modular Turbo sells both! Theres also Holset, they make pretty decent turbos as well. Most of us on here run MP, Turbonetics or Borg-Warner turbos though. Greddy makes good stuff, overpriced but good. Im guessing your friend has a DSM,EVO or WRX? lol

Whatever you do avoid Greddy! More of a ricer brand really, not saying they are total crap or anything. I have a new PT-76GTS that would be perfect for your setup.

On a side note, largest and fastest spooling are opposing ideas. Alot of picking out the right turbo is about what you are running. If youre running a stock ls1 then a t70/t76 will work fine. If you have a fully built 408 then an 88 would be better. You cant really run more than t76 with the PTK kit due to DP size.

A 78gts will definitely make power power then the gtk1000. Thats just one off the top of my head, I am sure there are more that will out power it.

i am prolly gonna be ordering the god speed kit and running a borg warner 74mm and just cut the t4 flange off and weld a t6 flange on cuz thats what it takes on the BW.. and there cheap and work good, i think the turbo is gonna cost like 550-600... but im also running it on a 408 and if i want bigger i will just swap it out to the 80mm, and gonna make my own downpipe and junk the godspeed one..

I would just do truck manifolds from the start, if I could do it all over again. I think you guys are really underestimating all the bullshit you need to go through to make the ebay kit fit well.....

We (PTE) haven't updated our site in a long time. We are currently working on it. What kind power you looking to make? Our HP76HPS billet comp wheel. It is rated at 1200fwhp (30psi boost) actually makes more power and will spool a little better then our cast 78hps, rated at 1160fwhp.
hope this helps,
Wes

Amen! Also if you are going to try a T-6 flange the turn on the DP probably won't fit and would require a custom piece bringing you back to a custom kit.

Talked to a few people and I think im getting a precision gts t78. Would i be cheaper to get a t6 flanged turbo like n20kid said I have a paracing tubular crossmember and upper and lower control arms. Is a t6 turbo the same size as a t4?

The Borg warner turbos are preety laggy, and then you would have to modify alot of things. Everything about a t6 is larger in comparison to the t4. On this page you can see measurements for the different flanges.
