Default Aluminum downpipes

Whats the wall thickness you guys with them using? What kind of abuse can you put them through? street driving? DD? road race?

I am sorta curious as well. My new setup has a 3" stainless downpipe to my firewall and then 3" aluminum 16 gauge from the firewall back.

For downpipes, 11ga is mandatory. Further back, you can go thinner.

what if you have a 90 within 4" of the outlet on the turbo? will it need to be thicker than 11ga? and will it last under constant abuse?

We have used 11ga aluminum on numerous downpipes, without issue, for street and drag race applications. However, if you were doing road racing, or some other endurance application, I'd probably use stainless until after you get past that first bend.
