procharger and 400 turbo?
i am trying to decide what rear end gear ratio to use with my set up.i have a 408 with a f-2 procharger making 15psi built 400trans and converter and 9inch rear end.makes 800 horse at the wheel now on very conservitive tune will turn up to 1000 once i get the car dialed in.race weight is 3400 pounds and has 29.5 tires.this is a race car but i want to occasionally drive it 15 or 20 miles on highway.i think the 400 has a 2.46 low gear so what is the highest gear you guys think i can run and not hurt my e.t. i was thinking 3.73 let me know your thoughts

To select rear gear, you really need to have good estimates on trap speed, maximum engine speed and converter slippage. After this, it is just a math exercise.
If you have 1000 rwhp you will have impressive trap speeds - what are your engine rpm limitations?

3.70 gears are what we had in my Camaro, shown here. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=12 We had a turbo 400 in it, then swapped it out for a powerglide. Bob
