Default Twin Turbo Silverado Build

Hey guys i'm building a twin turbo Silverado. I'm putting a 6.0 stock bottom end with a 229/229 cam, stock truck heads, and the usual arp bolts. I'll add pics as soon as i take them.

I do have a few questions though. and i'm sure a lot of them have been asked a lot.

first off is what ring gap should I go with on my speed pro plasma rings? I will be pushing 12-13 pounds.

Thanks in advance,
Steven D.

^^^Usually, the ring gap info for particular applications comes on a sheet supplied with the pistons/piston rings. I would start there for reference.

What year is your truck?
I have a 2003...looking at "performance options" for it right now...lol!

If you has a stock bottom end, why are you filing rings?

thats a long story. but to make it short my short block had a bent rod and my cylinders had .002 wear in them. the short block also came with another set of rods and pistons. so instead of getting stock rings I thought it would be better to get some oversized rings and file them.

I would have made it a 370 or 408 but I just dont have the funds.

I already filed one piston. the thing that is kicking my *** is the crinkled ring for oiling. it fits really tight.

The problem will be when you go to install the pistons. Listen carefull for a pop noise when you tighten the ring compressor. That will be one of the rings breaking.

I've got a set of rings done for one piston and everything compresses good. the problem i'm having is the crinkle ring for oil is too tight. Is there any way i can shorten it or take the stress off of it?
