Question 1959 Chevy Truck Turbo'n (Sponsor questions?)

Greetings, long time lurker and first time to post.

I have a 1959 Chevy truck (Apache) that I am about to repower.

Have been looking at either a 5.3 or 6.0 truck engine plus a single turbo.
I'm hopeful I can run truck or C6 manifolds with AC since I have a large amount of room under the hood.
I'd consider twins but rather stay single.
This truck will be driven often on the street, go to the track maybe once a year and goals are around 550 rwhp on pump gas.

Has anyone run those manifolds and AC?

Are there any sponsors that your recommend to make such a kit? DFW or Houston Texas area is preferred, but Kentucky will work. ;-)

Thanks,
Grape

If you have this in a truck, you should be able to flip the manifolds forward and upside down so you could retain AC. You could also then leave everything in the stock location i believe too. Just search truck manifold or c6 manifold builds.

I've looked and couldn't find any threads on point. Link?

Anyone else have advice?

Do any sponsors have a kit that retains the AC? (that doesn't put the turbo in the rear or include Dave Inall as an employee...)

No one will have a kit for your truck. You will have to fab it up yourself or have a shop do it. Almost all the turbo build threads here are done by the diy method. There are more by KYTP and a few others.

actually were doing the same in a 67 impala. if you have the motor in the car you should put up some pics so we can see what it looks like and how much room. in this impala, looks like we can have the manifolds flipped up and forward, and it will clear all stock accessories. flipped down the flanges have interference on the upper aarm mount.

I meant what sponsors would everyone recommend to build me a turbo system?
Need to know a price range before I consider DIY'ing.

I would imagine it would be a custom setup and they would need the vehicle to do it.

Agreed, that's not a problem to me.

I'll try to post pictures. The factory 283 still resides there for now.

I'll run either truck or LS(n) accessories.
No motor yet.
