Best "Budget" head for FI?

Best "Budget" head for FI?
I've been looking at heads left and right for the past week. I can't seem to make heads or tails of what to do. Lets say you had $2500 to spend on some heads/rockers, what would you grab? This is on a 408" Iron block setup that will have some 1/2" head studds as well. I'm looking for something with a nice, thick deck that can take a beating. I've taken notice to the TFS 220cc Forced Induction head, any used those yet? How about the cnc dart heads? I'd kill for a set of All Pro or ETP, but they are just out of the budget for this season.

As cast Dart 225s worked well for me. I spent $1500 on them total, including having the chambers opened up to 68cc.
You may want to shoot Fireball a pm. He hase a very nice set of heads for sale.

Trickflows fast as cast! They have the thicker decks and flow over 300 cfm. Plus vengeance racing sells them at a great price! https://www.vengeancerd.com/ecart/pr...Cylinder-Heads

Im looking at prc ls7 285cc heads now. Its a close run for me between the mast heads at va speed and the texas speed. My thing is I dont want to by another set of rockers. The ls7 will work just fine for my future set up. Of course I want to oring them aswell. But to the op I have a set of patriot stg 3 heads untouch out the box and put on and I seen 813 hp max with them.

No complaints with my AFR 225. Thought they might be a bit weak in the bottom end off boost but with my combo they seem fine. I do hope though AFR makes some six bolt like trik flo and few other companies have in case go to LSX block build in the future.
Hope to have dyno and track numbers this season.

Like Mr.B said $2,500 sounds more like a high end head not a budget head.
A set of LQ9 035 or 317 castings are just like the LS6 head, but they use the 72cc combustion chamber. You can find them for $300 then just have them ported if you want, but not 100% necessary then use the extra money for other FI things that you'll need. But AFR or Trickflows are a top end heads.
Man we are so damn lucky to have the parts available to make our cars as mild or wild
as we can afford. We are living in awesome times
