Default Blower Cam w/ good MPG? YACQ

Yet Another Cam Question
Yeah, its a strange question. My DD spends 95% of its life at 2000 rpm's in 6th gear. Fuel mileage seems lousy at 19mpg.

Current setup:
224 228 112+2
P1SC
42# injectors
12bolt 3.73
Built bottom 9.6:1 compression LS1

I plan on swapping in a D1SC, 60# injectors, and new cam

More than willing to sacrifice some top end for better mileage at 2000 rpm. I was surprised to see the LS9 Cam at 211/230 122.5LSA. Is it three bolt? Is LS9 cam a direct swap?

You would need to run and 1x cam gear from and Early Ls2 with the appropriate front cover and sensor.

Also, a custom cam can be made to achieve the same end result.

Another option would be a ligenfelter GT2-3. It works great and will yield good MPG's.

The tune at low-load, light throttle needs to be tweaked carefully to get the most advance and highest numerical AFR possible. I am currently running 42 degrees advance at cruise and 15.75 AFR and am playing around with 16:1. It's helped a lot, even with an auto and 3.73's. Your current cam may not be the problem.
