Default Poll - Oil press gauge?

I'm going turbo. I got a 3 pod pillar and added an AEM tru-boost, an Autometer elec. fuel pressure gauge, and a innovate wideband gauge.

Can the stock oil pressure gauge work, or should I really be running another gauge? The only way I can see it being useful is if it somehow could alarm/alert, or log to HPT.

What do you folks think?

Well folks
Being one of the paramount aspects to monitor on a modified motor, do it. There is no reason (other than to save $80) to not add it. Accuracy is pretty important and IMO no factory gauges are accurate enough. This is one area you wouldn't want to skimp on.

I'd say go ahead and get it.

I don't run one. I currently have a Interceptor scan gauge, vac/boost, fuel pressure. I am adding wideband capability to the scan gauge. The stock gauges are crap IMO. So, yes, adding a accurate oil pressure gauge is a good idea.

Very true. I use the factory gauge but its better to be safe then sorry. Also it may not be a bad idea to place it near the turbo oil line that way you can make sure its getting good pressure. Just my 2 cents.

An oil pressure gauge isn't really important at all. Especially since they come with a factory gauge. The first gauges I go with are boost, fuel pressure, and exhaust temp. A wideband is needed if you're doing any tuning yourself.

I would say a wideband is needed any way. But as i said you dont want to make sure that nice 1000-1500 buck turbo is getting a good supply. Just my 2 cents

Weird that you mention that, because when I called Precision about the turbo they specifically mentioned NOT putting it inline with the turbo's oil feed... stating that you never want to chance interrupting oil flow to the feed line.

Hmm i dont think a T fiting with a oil pressure sensor would cause any interruptiong to the oil supply going into the turbo.
