Default Truck manifold hits steering knuckle?

Is there a difference in the LT1 and LS1 steering knuckles?

Doing a turbo build with a 6.0 into an LT1 car, driver side manifold (pass manifold flipped forward) hits the knuckle. Or maybe theres a difference between the steering racks or soemthing that positions it different? Anybody have any ideas?

Yes the rack between a LT1 and LS1 car are different. The angle is not the same and they utilize different shafts. When converting everyone I have seen gets a LS1 rack along with a steering shaft.

car has a madman manual rack, says its the same for 93-02 cars. I guess I will try to find an ls1 knuckle to use, if that doesnt work I guess we are building a set of ehadesr sooner than we thought.

I see. Not sure about the manual racks but the power steering cars are different for sure. Good luck.

so would the actual rack be the same, just need the different shaft?

If so, would a stock LS1 shaft work? I can get my hand on one of those pretty quick if thats all it is.

The rack is the same. The column location and steering shaft are different. A stock shaft WILL NOT work.
