Default Jay's Turbo Build Thread

I've been incredibly busy with my new house, but I wanted to start posting
up some pics of the turbo build.

Pool Boys Racing is putting the whole project together, and I cannot thank
the crew enough. This is a custom turbo setup, starting with modified truck
headers.
Looking to run TTT5 real street this year.

Will post more pics as progress continues.

The welds and fabrication look excellent BTW. X-Overs smooth, nice brackets/supports, and Aluminum DP's are sexy.

welds dont look too great .. looks like you guys laid some filler and the pulsed on top of it ? or just pulsed on top of it via fusion weld/ pumping the pedal ?

Wastegate is marked and not welded. Looks like they are going to have a better feed setup after its cut. I have ssen this fabricators work first hand, numerous times, his WG setups have always been nice. Of the countless kits I've seen come from him, zero had creep or progressive issues.

Phil, this is at my shop........I assure you that the wastegate is not going to be in the wrong spot. It was just sitting on the pipe not welded. It is not even pointed the right direction.

The welds do look good and the kit turned out nice. I finished the intercooler mounting last night and the radiator mounts as well.

The car is for true steet class in TTT5. 76mm max on 275s. We have raced in this class for several years with a bottle car, running 5.4-5.5s. We changed that car to a blower and moved up to extreme street so we wanted a true street car as well. Jay is a racer and has been into this stuff for as long as I have known him. The car should run 5.4-5.5 as well. This was not an ideal motor for this turbo but it is what we had in the car. Next season we will change it to a smaller and higher compression motor.

Build looks really nice. I have a good friend that runs TTT5 (Brookins), I go with him every once in a while, getting ready for the 17th!

Im assuming you mean Caddo Mills, if so, were bringing a large group down there this weekend to get some passes in too.

Yeah that's it, couldn't remember the exact name, Ive only ever been to Ennis, Dallas Raceway, & Kennedale. I wish we had that many tracks in close proximity where I live.

From what I know the build was completed, but Jay never took it to the track and i "think" might have sold it.

I think he might upgrade to the 88 and come and play this year. He is working on the tune right now he said. I think it should be at the track this year some or atleast I hope the car makes it out.
