no o rings or 6 bolt head will not live too long at 12000whp.

you will need to be changing head gaskets like underwear

There's lots of guys making 900-1k hp on stock GM castings. I'm going to be pushing a set of 317s this year... hoping for near 1k fwhp myself. MLS gaskets and studs seems to do a pretty good job...

Yeah, for 12,000 rwhp your going to need 12 bolt heads, lol. I agree with his post when you remove the typo.

My car made 920 rwhp on a mustang dyno in race form (29.5 tall slicks) on stock 317's

I think Im right up there with them. Not pushing water or anything, but sure seems like there is a lot of psi in the cooling system after I ream it good. Doesnt seem to do it below 20psi. Did they run long at this power level, any gasket problems?

I think now we know the 317s are up to it.... next question... what head gaskets are all the big HP/PSI guys using?

(Not trying to hijack but its a viable Q.)

From all the research I've done, the GM MLS gaskets are pretty damn consistent. I ran them for 4 years before and I'm running them again this season with my new heads!

We did 1132rwhp on the dyno at right around 25-26 psi.
S88 Turbo,370ci motor, stock crank, Ported 317's, MLS Gaskets,Patriot double springs, 224/220 cam. Thru a Powerglide and S60 rearend and 325/50's.

At the track it would run all day with out pushing water ie(lifting the heads, preasurizing coolant system) at 20psi. It ran a 6.27 1/8 @ 119, 9.26@150 like that.

On the 1132rwhp pull it pushed water on the dyno.
Ran it at the track like that... 5.89 1/8 @ 127 and popped the head gasket and rolled to a 9.7 @137. Race weight was around 3350#
