1000 rwhp build which head unit
I'm starting my forced induction build and can't decide between vortech or procharger head unit. Would like your suggestions on witch head unit to use I'm looking to build a 1000rwhp in my 99 trans am it will be used on the street as well any suggestions would be great thanks.

F1R minimum. There are only a few that have made an honest 1Krwhp with an F1R. I originally had an F1R and sold it in favor of an F2. The problem isn't so much the head unit itself. When approaching 1Krwhp, belt slip is a major problem which is why most don't get the full potential out of the F1s. Do a 12rib minimum but a cog setup with a sprag drive (like I did ) would be ideal.

Gear drive, and then all those belt issues go away, you just have to deal with the plastic bushings, which are alot less of an issue (at least when they go you don't have to worry about a belt blowing a hole thru the hood, taking other stuff out etc)
Head unit, F1r, F2, or a Vortech V24 Xi which is what I'm planning on. Don't bother trying to look it up it's not on Vortech's site, but it's a bad bitch that will make some goooood steam. Alot of the NMCA guys are running them, and are going 8.0 @ over a 175 with 360 inch sbf's on a bfg radial.. that's enough proof to me they make some power!
