Default Has anyone tried a 928 motorsports impeller?

UPDATE: Pics of the old impeller->

Obvious boost leak- it can't make enough pressure. There are a total of 5 chips. I'm done buying used parts. I'm sick of everyone thinking they have premium parts, want top dollar and its been hammered to death. Either the seller Wild Bill (guy i bought this from) knew this kit was toast, or just doesn't have a clue and didn't know any better. Not to mention it was missing a critical $60 oil feed fitting, random hardware, and came with items that didn't even fit. When I sell someone a "mint" item, I make dam sure i've gone completly through it and that nothing is worn/failing.

Got my new impeller installed (not easy) and last part I need is my smaller pulley that I've been waiting a month for. This car better run like a raped ape or I'm gonna be pissed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, I bought a used Vortech kit a couple months ago. When I finally got it all hooked up, it made 1/2 lb of boost. So I pulled the belt off (used for 10 minutes) and got the car working NA because its my daily driver. When time would allow, I checked all connections, hoses, leaks and never noticed anything that would leak so much boost. Well, over the weekend I think I've found my problem. I inserted my snapon fiberoptic cam into the output of the volute and there is chunks missing on the impeller. I'm praying the inner housing isn't destroyed. I'm obviously pissed that I got screwed because I was told "this kit is good" and "made 7-9psi all day long".

I'm not shipping this to Vortech cuz they will want like $1100 to fix. I found this company on ebay (928 motorsports) that makes an impeller for my V1, Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on it? Is my LT1 a counter clockwise or clockwise rotation blower?

Thanks,
James

I am curious also. They claim something like 200 more cfm of air movement. They have been around for some time and do a lot of powerdyne related stuff.

Just look at your own to see which rotation it is.

And I cant see them going to the trouble of CNC'ing something like that up for it not to work ?? Looks pretty cool

If it makes boost it'll make a huge difference. An A to B comparison would be cool, but your A is obviously toast.

That's not good, wonder why it would lose boost?? Was the comparison done on days of same temp/etc.? Mine was only making 1/2lb before so i'm hoping it can only get better I'm not looking for more than 6psi, this car needs to be reliable.

Went to measure what belt length I need with the smaller pulley and the dam idler threads stripped when I rotated the tensioner. And of course its reverse thread, so i need to go buy a longer bolt/nut when if I get time next week. I hate aluminum threading!

those " half moons" are generally used for balancing. but it does seem like the inducer is a bit bent.

how long does it take to get a pulley.I just couldnt wait for you to give us some answers so I finished installing my 928 motosports impeller into my powerdyne charger.fired it up and drove it to work this morning.you can definitly feel a difference. or I have been driving it with no charger for about a year now and it just feels great. hope to get some boost #s this weekend.the old setup was only putting out 4.5# of boost.
