Default Broken Tensioner Bolt

Hey guys, I need a little help. I guess there's no reason for me to lie about what happened because I'm not the first one this has happened to. I was tightening the bolt Tensioner bolt at the top of the J bracket and broke the bolt. Does anybody know the dimensions to that bolt? I've already tried the search function and was able find threads about others who have broken this particular bolt (links below) but no one even mentioned what size the bolt was. Any help will be gratefully appreaciated.

Thanks,
Isaac

If breaking the bolt is not that uncommon, how tight are you supposted to tighten the tensioner?

Its just an M10x1.5 bolt
Dimensions wise I just wanted to know the length of the bolt that's all.

Truth be told according to Bob (EPP) the belt is supposed to be guitar string tight.

In the link below checkout page 21 and at the bottom of the page the bolt I'm refering to is labeled as "Tensioner Jack-Screw (3/8-16 Thread)."

I came very close to buying a piece of all thread but was able to find the exact bolt (except at a higher grade) that I needed. Here are the dimensions for the bolt...

Diameter: 3/8"
Thread: 16
Length: 5"

Thanks for the help everyone...

The belt does indeed need to be "guitar string tight" to prevent belt slippage. One thing a lot of people forget is that a new belt should be broken in before going wide open throttle. A half hour to an hour of use on a new belt will break it in, and the belt will need to be adjusted again, as it will have stretched. Bob
