Ebay turbo build
I ran my twin turbo lt1 Datsun 280Z. The video is from a visit to Huntsville a couple weeks ago when I ran 6.11 @114.97
The car weighed 2775 that night and has a standard bore with 3.75 stroke. The heads are ported by Shains Machine Shop in Manchester TN. It has 2.02/1.6 valves on iron cast heads and uses a 52mm tb.
It has 9" with 31" tires with 4.11 thru a 400.
You can hear the car stumble as I stalled it up, I 'fixed' the tune, but now I think I need a new opti. Pics of the car are in my garage on here.

I was at Huntsville and saw you guys running (was actually beside you in your last pass). I would have to say this car ranks way up on the performance per dollar scale. Very impressive times, especially for a boosted, iron headed LT1. I really had some second thoughts on some of the parts selections I have made for my build after I saw the performance this LT1 Datsun was putting down. I suspect there is also a lot of homework behind this build too. Hope you get the ignition sorted out quickly, and break into the 5s.

Thank you.
Thanks I recommend turbo. But will the Ebay turbo's last?
Probably not.
BUT they were I think ~$500 shipped plus ceramic coating so low dollar to get it 'working' and I have a feel for what size I will need to make the goal of 5.99
I am thinking seriously of two step since I have not been great at consistent launches and to get faster I need help. The car has more in it or seems to so I hope to get there.
BUT as they say part of the fun is the journey not necessarily the destination and it has been fun.

iv seen this car run , hard to believe it is a lt1 stock bore , caprice cast iron heads stock gasket matching, 2.02 1.6 valves bone stock lt1 intake not ported ,cheap ebay turbos , nobody said they would last but looks like doing a very good job, good thing you went to that rotating assembly to hold up,good insurance, but who ever help you on that turbo kit to fit that car must be very good at what he does. good luck on that 5.99 goal. seen your buddy down at huntsville with you belive he went 5.95 busting up, on simular build . tell him to get a transbrake !!!!!!!

You were across the finish first.
I pulled out when it backfired. The tune isn't right yet, each time it gets closer, I am hoping to get back to track this weekend at Montgomery.
Maybe will get to Huntsville in a month if all is well. I hear there will be 2 Ebay Turbo setups at Huntsville with T brakes on 21 May
Should be some good times
