LS1 or LQ9 better for boost?
Hi all, new to the forums so if this topic has been beaten to death please excuse me I searched and couldn't find anything.
I recently purchased a 94 Z28 with a locked up engine and I want to go to a LSx based engine. The goal for the car is to install a basic turbo setup (truck manifolds) and put the car in the 9's in the 1/4 mile.
I have a friend with both an LQ9 and an LS1 engine that he is willing to sell me, but I wasn't sure which would be better considering I am going to install forged pistons/rods and all the cylinder head goodies. I figured the iron block on the LQ9 might be more sturdy but for the same price, I'm not sure what to go with.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Go with the LQ9, the iron block is niiiice! Only think u need to do is get LS1 accessories and you will have to drill and tap a hole in the block for the alternator. (has a lug in the block but is just solid)
