Default 347 ls1

For the guys that have had shops build there motors about how much did they pay. This may seem like a loaded question but i want to make sure i am not being over charged and want to make sure its done right the first time.

I dont have any crazy plans and want to forge the crank, rods, and pistons and back every thing up with ARP fasteners.

Now here is the catch. Right now i am in love with boost and its the best thing in the world, however i am running a TTI street set up with a T76 and i am not sure how far this kit can take me. In the future i may make this car track only and would probaly go back to the bottle. If the motor was built with a 10.5:1 CR could you use 317 heads on the 3.622 bore to bring it back down to a boost friendly CR (9.5:1 would be perfect). Sorry if this sounds crazy i am still learning about engines how diffrent heads change CR so please bear with me.

The 347 has a ~3.90" bore and yes you can use the 317 heads on it I am.
3.622 is the stroke size

I paid $1,1XX.00 for Machining, Balancing, and Assembling the roating assembly. ARP main studs, Line bore, and timing set was added in that price too.

Would 317 heads lower the CR from 10.5:1 to 9.5:1 with a 3.905 bore. Thanks smokinhawk for the correction

depends on your piston. But the bigger CC head will lower compression. If going to make it a track car why go back to nitrous? I have roughly 2300 in my forged 370 shortblock with cam and timing chain.

I dont have plans to go back to nitrous right now but maybe one day depending on what the limits of the TTI kit proves to be. Keep in mind we are not talking about the T76 as i know it can support well over 700 but more the manifolds, cross over pipe, and down pipe since this is there street kit and not the race kit. What i dont want to happen is to build a forged 347 with a T76 and find out that the hot side piping is limiting the car.

More or less if i am trying to build a good solid long block that i could turn back into a NA or nitrous motor if i ever wanted to steep away from boost. I know this might sound a little out there but it was just an idea.
