Procharger intake hat??s
Well since i saw the post about the silicone intake hat from auto zone getting sucked closed i have been doing some thinking about how i want to do mine. I do think that the auto-zone coupler is by no means a quality piece and that if it could be sucked close that easily then it most likely wouldnt stand up to boost very well either. Has anyone used or thought of using

These couplers are very pricey but i have used them in the past and i know they are quality. Also their 90 degree bend is very tight as most procharger users need.
My other idea was to weld a v-band flange to the housing of the blower. Then make the entire intake out of aluminum. With the use of the v-band of course the intake would NEVER move.
Thoughts????

I've been looking at this alot lately also. I think a quality silicone piece would work if thick enough. Say a 5 ply.
Unfortunantly they don't make a Anderson Powerpipe for our cars, but a silicone elbow is what is used in their kits. I've been looking through what they offer and have been trying to see if I could find a setup that could be easily modified to fit in a fbody.
This may be a repost from somewhere, but I seen this yesterday too.

Now that looks nice...but it looks freaking HUGE....it looks like it will stick out around 7" from the supercharger...with radiator in stock location im not sure if that thing would fit.

FYI for those who don't know it: KP got his 347 ci D-1SC T/A into the 8's with the stock ProCharger inlet hat. He had a larger filter on it, and had made a scoop to direct air into the filter. If memory serves me correct, KP said running without an inlet didn't improve his times. Bob

This is what I have used to run 8.90 @ 152 with a F1A and 9.11 @ 149 with a D1SC. It was starting to run out at higher RPM with the F1A but I dont think it would hurt a D1SC much. I have seen the same the same big dyno increases taking the inlet off but it never translated to anything at the track. I'm sure it would kill a F1C/F1R, which it doesnt fit anyhow.
KP posted this last year. Bob

This is where i got my ideas from, when the truck hat from bob ^^^ wouldn't fit. Here's what I ended up with http://mycarpics.shutterfly.com/277 http://mycarpics.shutterfly.com/276
The bigger filter and the little one on the bypass hole gained me 1.5#'s of boost and cost around 100$.
Edit... your quick bob
