Question Cam question??

Pls give opinion on which Cam would be more responsive for street. Here are details:

2000 T/A
Forged 5.7
317 heads 9.3:1 CR
4l80E trans 3k stall
Factory exhaust manifolds
3.08 rear
STS style 76mm intercooled
60lbs injectors twin fuel pumps
running 8psi/15psi

Cam A) 0.472/0.479, 202/210 on 117

Cam B) 0.595/0.601, @.50 232/236 on 112

the smaller cam will run smoother and will be much easier on valvetrain

An 03 ZO6 makes for a great streetable cam for a 346 CID setup.

The duration of cam #1 is too small and cam #2 is WAY too high. Dont run either with a turbo. You need something around 225/225 duration on about a 590 lift and 114 LSA if not more. I wouldnt go any more than about 230 for duration. Some like split duration but depends on whom you go with for a cam.

Agreed. If it's a rear mount and stock heads, I'd give atleast a 6* split to the exhaust though.

Thanks for the input...unfortunately Cam B is currently in (from before Turbo) and Cam A was a choice because it is free $. Cam B has good power from roll but will not spin INVO 295's from stop with out brake boosting Tune has been optimized but Cam B just not too compatible with this config. Will just have to chose battle situations carefully for now.

What is the duration at .050 on cam B? It's not 281/285??
