Default Stock bottom and single plane intake.

Is anyone making big power on the stock bottom end and a single plane intake, carb'd or efi. I'm wondering how well it holds together when the tuning and consistency is better.

I'm thinking about building a boosted JY gen III motor with high boost and low rpms in a very light car.

That should make good power. With a blow through setup it is generally excepted to have a single plane. The turbo will make up for the torque down low.

Other than the Bling-Bling factor, the single plane intake will not do anything on a stock bottom low RPM setup.

I thought it was generally accepted that the stock intake creates a cylinder inconsistency under boost, leading to detonation.

I don't see why a stock motor shouldn't be able to handle at least 700 fwhp, older sbc can do it, although with cast pistons instead of hyper.

I disagree. It will distribute the air evenly through out the cylinders, better then the plastic. Past 7k rpm you will definatly see a gain. However, as was pointed out earlier, low rpm will be a loss.

The low rpm isn't an issue. It would be a drag only car, so its rpm range would be about 3500-6000. It might make the same amount of torque even at 3500 in boost.

The major reason for running it would be better consistency at higher boost.
