Default ls1 vs ls1 gt67turbo

im looking to rebuild/replace my 98 ta with an sts turbo setup with either a forged ls1 or ls2. should i stay ls1 and do a 370 or or do a 408 ls2. is there a lot more power to be made with the 408 and gt67 or will an ls1 do the job and get me over 600hp at a cheaper price.

I would go 347 on the LS1 the 370 moves the pins too far up into the piston from what i understand. As far as LS2 goes its all about your budget if your having a shop do the build for you then the 408 LS2 is going to run you about 2-3K over what the 347 LS1 would. A forged 347 can support your power goals.

well your wrong a 370 ls1 whould have a 3.82 stroke a 402 whould have a 4.00 stroke wich whould put the pins even higher in the piston.... there are many many fast guys with 402/408s out there
