Default What grade bolt for turbo manifold?

What grade bolt, washers, nut for turbo exhaust housing to turbo manifold? I was thinking about using some stianless steel bolts but I don't they they will hold up. Should I go with a grade 8 bolt or is there something better I can use to prevent rusting?

I just use whatever manifold bolts NAPA or the dealer sells. Not sure what grade they are.

grade 8 will work fine, I have not seen many bolts not rust once they get heated a few times. The last ones I got from Advance with nuts and locking washers. Check the flanges ensure they are true if not hit them with a belt sander. should take no more than a little spray copper to seal them.

I tried using grade 5 stainless before but the bolts didn't hold up when I took them out. The nice thing about the stainless bolts were that they kept their finish and didn't rust.

Stainless is fine, just use alittle anti sieze on them. Grade 8 is overkill.

Where can I find grade 8 stainless? I've tried ACE's hardware and they don't carry it.

I would like to have the extra security if possible. I just don't know where to find grade 8 stainless.

Are you referring to a Bumax 88 stainless bolt.

I don’t recall seeing a grade 8 stainless bolt.

I have only seen grade 2,5 and 8 numbering
used on steel bolts.

I guess i should have clarified i use Aircraft grade stainless bolts. With a tensile strength equal to a grade 8 or stronger (but i get them at a good discount).

I can understand wanting some overkill but I have used standard stainless bolts from ACE hardware on everything automotive we do and never had a problem. The fastner doesnt really need to be strong.

Stainless into mild steel without antisieze is not good. Use the hi temp antisieze.. IE:
http://www.neverseezproducts.com/hightemp.htm
Spring type lock washers are useless after the first hit w/ heat..
