Default AES Racing Engines FI Shortblock sale

We've worked with CP Pistons on a custom boost application piston for LS engines. Quite often the typical 408 engine is either too big for the head unit used (ie 76mm turbocharger or D1SC) or it leaves some dimensions of the piston to be desired.

Combining Callies C-Series 3.825" crankshaft, compstar H beam 6.125 rod with a 1.200" CH piston, gas nitrided top ring puts together great combination of parts.

Using 1.200" compression height we're able to put more strength into the ring lands also improve the skirt design.
These pistons include .180" wall thickness Chromoly piston pins package.

We still offer 408 boost engines, however this gives you another option.

Very nice. I wonder if that is a cheaper option than a 4.155" LSX block and a polished stock 3.622" crank (392"). In the long run I bet it is cheaper since you'd need big bore heads with the LSX 392 but normally available 4.03" heads with the 6.0 block. And I bet that the 6.0L block plus the new crank and custom pistons will not even be the same money as a new LSX block bare.
Again, VERY nice set up.

LSX block itself is expensive, and reasonably heavy.

I'd rather use a crankshaft with a keyway, you could mill a keyway into the stock crankshaft for the balancer. The Compstar c-series crankshaft includes this.

Handle anything you would put through a 370 or 408.

Infact i'd say you would be pushing coolant before you had
shortblock destruction.

BTW just added, gas ports are an option.

I'd recommend lateral gas ports if interested, $120 option.

Pistons have arrived, heres the result.

CP pistons are used everywhere from import to Mike Edwards NHRA pro stock, here we have a high end pro stock piston next to our LS boost piston, built by the same group of people on same machines, less machining steps goes into the piston we've collaborated on, basically we left out CNC lightweight milling, to keep the cost affordable, main goal is building a shelf piston for some serious boost. Works out to 390ci when used with 3.825" C-Series crankshaft or 383ci with 3.75" Callies Magnum Crankshaft, either crankshaft can be used, i'd change rod length to compensate if needed.

I can't wait to see more of these hitting the streets.

What forging is this compstar crank? Any idea on where to get more info?

Thanks

Holy ****! That's a killer deal. That's a complete short block assembled with a forged crank for $3600. Have you thought of selling a stroker kit (crank, pistons, rods, pins and rings)?

Compstar C-Series crankshaft is 5140 forged steel, nitrided journals, stronger then a factory crank. We've had them up to 800rwhp with power adder LS motor. I'm sure it has its limits, LS crankshaft dimensions are pretty stout, by comparison look at a 4.6 ford crank, its tiny.

You can run a 3.75" Callies magnum crankshaft, $1300 upgrade.

I wanted an engine design for the guy with single 88mm, twin 60mm, or D1SC, who can benefit from larger stroke, but need a HD piston.
