what's your point-we went 7.9x at 181 with a super vic and ETP 225's-doesn't mean the intake is any good.

forgot to add that we went 7.59 at 192 with a gmpp ls7 intake-and that thing is total junk-horrible airflow distribution

Has to be half way good if it can run in the 7's don't ya think. Do you think switching from a Wilson to a Marcella will produce an et difference? I am not arguing with you, just asking your opinion since you have more experience with this then I ever will.

A good sheet metal intake built for the combo will produce a good difference.

Is the Wilson for square or cathedral? What would you sell it for?

the deceiving thing about FI is that you can make good power with bad parts.

a good intake will make power where you want it to and the EGT spread will be minimal.good airflow distribution is harder to achieve with a FI intake. The power gain you find in a good intake is that all the cyinders are running closer to equal and you can be more aggressive on your tune up due to this.

Shawn- Im very interested. I spoke with John marcella this morning about some options with my build as its different due to it being in an LT1 car with factory SS hood and an LS motor. I have heard the wilson intakes are pretty poor when it comes to distribution especially on the LS1 billet manifold. For $3,000 thats flat out unacceptable. Im also in the market for a custom cam. Thanks

so shawn, after you talk about bad port with fi and still make power.

what would a person see going from say a ls2 intake to a marcella? or to a custum sheet metal intake. or hell going from a single plan to the marcella?

i am maining asking cause is it worth 3k? or can you get just as good flow from a single plan?

There is always a better option out there. We all know that. It comes with the territory of every part out there. You have to look at the big picture with in what you are building. There is a place for $3000+ billet mainfolds. There are times when a LS6 mainfold will work. If you not looking to extract every once of power from a combination then whats the point of dropping BIG coin of a those parts?
