Cylinder head/cam recommendations on this setup...
I am trying to sort out my engine build as my current motor is down. I would like to rebuild the stock LS1 with forged internals (going with longer throw to hit the 383ci mark) and throw on a different set of heads and pick up a new camshaft.
1. What would people here recommend. Looking for a bang for the buck type head that flows well with a rear mount turbo. Need something with a decent deck on it to prevent lift with lots of boost.
2. What sort of cam specs should i be looking at with this combo? Do i look for a cam with lots of duration and lift? Should i buy a cam favoring the intake or exhaust side?
Any help would be appreciated.

I would say to go with a set of ported 317's. I've seen some people get some big numbers down with them on their turbo cars. Don't hold me to it but I think that they flow about the same as the 243's, but they have a larger CC to lower your stock C/R down to I think 9.3 to 1 witch would be better for FI. Are you planning on keeping the turbo that you have not and what PSI are you looking to run?
