Default 160 t stat standard procedure for blower?

Should I be running a 160 stat. My car is not over heating I it stays between 205 and 210. Car has an iron block with d1. Im changing my water pump out so curious if this was something I should do?

If you are going by the gauge you are not seeing acctual temp unless by chance your car is a 98. All the other years are just cold, warm, and hot. The numbers aren't real etc... Usually the 160 is a good idea, but depending on your setup you may get by, I haven't met anyone who has, but you cold be the one etc... So if you are changing the pump I would put a 160 t stat if it were me, but it is your build and your the final decision.

Unless you adjust your fan settings you are just wasting money. The fans & radiator control the final running temp not the Thermostat.

Unless you need it or live in a very warm climate, I'd just leave it alone.

What is the climate like where you live ?

Ha Ha. I'm telling you to run a 160, but MYGTO is right that you have to adjust the fan setting for it to be effective.

No you SHOULD do the 160 thermostat, but you have to adjust the fan settings or you're just wasting time and money.

Either a handheld tuner or getting tuned by a professional. I would recommend getting tuned. You are
running a Procharger and have never been tuned? If so I would guess you are on the canned tune with the
kit and a good tune should also pick-up some power!

In FL I would run a 160 for sure. Your weather is very simular to ours here in Houston, and I have to run them and use an LT1 radiator. Stays around 190 during the day with the A/C on, but will climb to 210-215 if I have to sit in traffic etc... At night it usually runs about 180-187 that is just for comparison as some of the guys don't run any of the air deflectors which helped me a lot.
