OHIO BOYS @ the Motor City Rumble
Although there was a very low turn out at the Motor City Rumble (4 cars including the 3 of us ) we had a great time at the dual event which was combined with Ultimate Outlaw series).
Steve Turley, Mike Brown and myself all ran both Drag Radial Classes (LS-1/4 mile and Outlaw Drag Radial-1/8th mile)
Steve, after being out of competition for 3 weeks, he ran a string of good passes with a best of 7.60@189.
My car continued to be on a rail running 4.90's to the 1/8 and a new best of 7.50@194 in the 1/4......still hydraulic BTW
BUT...all that was overshadowed by Mike running an incredible 7.27@200 right off the trailer with his new set-up courtesy of Kurt Urban Performance. That puts him on the trail of the record set by Paul Major. FYI-Ran a 7.33@198 in the final round too!
In the end.....
Mike and I qualified 4th and 5th out of 16 cars in the big dawg DR field (UOS) with our LS based motors . Mike went to the semi's and lost with a new PB of 4.77@159
I had to bow out after first round of qualifiing to save my engine I ran 9 of my best passes ever last weekend (4.90's and 7.50's) but it was running way too hot because of some radiator blockage which likely torched some bearings that unfortunately showed up this weekend.
Mike won the LS DR class....obviously,lol.
Steve who normally is leading the charge, fought a few gremlins but managed to get on track for the future in the semi's against Mike with that 7.60 pass.
JUST TO STIR THE POT.....Mike Brown (as do I) still have Truck Manifolds and cast Super Victor intakes
BIG THANKS to all that help us to be out on the track!
First and foremost...our families and our dedicated crew!

He is still running the same basic stuff he did last year. Earlier this year he broke a connecting rod, about 2 seconds later lots of parts were lost! We saved the crank, lifters and the top of the engine. He is using my personal shortblock as we wait for parts for his engine. Doing his best with the "rental wreck" shortblock.

Mike and Steve were having a lil' ol drag race in the final except Steve's car got loose or something and Mike just zinged his way down the track.
All three cars are just simply impressive. I was talking to some other non-LS guys at the track and they are all just blown away by how the three cars work...
Mike hat's off on the 7.2 pass, I took a vid of it, I'll try to dl them tomorrow.
Heck I even saw Bob from AllPro turning a few wrenches.
