Default accufab throttle body shaft breakage

i left on the brake, car spun went to let out, an the pedal moved but didnt effect the engine. it was on the chip headed to the wall ,,i got the car shut down right before impact,,if u have the old one sided shaft throttle body i would not trust it,,ive did my part to warn, i hope u guys a safe season,,i wish everyday that someone would have warned me,,

so it broke and kept it WOT? I would think if it broke it'd kill throttle returning it to 0% TP?

when the shaft broke ,it seperated itself from the butterfly , so it remained in that position. it broke on that side,,the spring side

oh ok, i was confused exactly where it broke. That makes more sense then.

it took 2.1 seconds to hit the wall,,,killing the power didnt help much, just wasnt enough real estate to slow down. that link is a vid of the crash,, sorry its not that great but the guy filming was on my team an afriend for25 years so it scared him , an he droped the camera an then when he picked it up u see a ball of flames.

+1 I had a throttle body spring break in heavy interstate traffic. It went to WOT just like that, the butterfly goes to WOT with no return. It's no joke on how disconcerting that is.

they changed there shaft design to a split shaft , which seems to be twice as strong,, i just wish they would have posted the problem with the old shaft an maybe i wouldnt have got hurt. Thats why im on here now hoping if someone has the old one like i did,that i could let them no before a problem accured.
