Default Q16 vs Pump + Meth

On a air to air setup do they equal out to the same? Or better to do Q16 + Meth?

Q16 all the way, you would have to be hitting it with 8 meth nozzles and 5 pumps to make the power you can on Q lol.

I would advise against Q16 on most setups.the fuel needs to be run much leaner and doesn't have the cooling properties of other fuels-so you get high cylinder temps and egt's.The engine needs to be built properly to utilize this fuel with no issues.I would suggest C16 depending on the setup

Very good info. I heard Q16 or C16 but never considered that effect.

Depends on IAT's. You need to have this data to see if you need or dont need.

Example you run C/Q16 and IAT's are 100-120 through the traps. Dont add meth.

Example, IAT's are 200 through the traps.. then add meth to bring them to 100-120.

Pump gas is a whole other story. You can make a lot of power on pump gas and meth given the right setup.

I did a twin turbo Mustang recently with an Icon twin turbo setup. His best ever was an 8.65 at 158. Engine been in the car now over 5 years. After tuning, car dropped to 8.44 at 162. It's been running Q16. The reason was the icon IC was located where the sway bar would be.. and IAT's where over 200. Adding the meth dropped the IAT's and improved the power.

If he had lets say a liquid IC full of ice.. it would have been a different story.

Hope this helps,

Not to mention c16 does a lot better with high IATs then the Q.
